I found a nice chocolate store in New York, called Mariebelle.

Look at this pretty design on each chocolate.

The gift box is also very nicely designed.

I am sure this is one of my favorite chocolate.

New look to my website

Finally I got to replace my site to this new look.
Last time I redesigned my site was a year ago. It took while to replace it, though.
Once it was up, it looked already not new too me. It was so outdated.

Here, I finally did it!
This time, I designed as simple as possible with a bit of care of Typography.
I know that it needs to work for more little details, I will get to it gradually.

I was cleaning up my archive the other day, and I found the site I created a year ago.
I did’t use it anymore, so I decided to give away.

I know that some people want a simple template. I got rid of unnecessary stuff for you.

CSS new site design completed and ….

I designed new site.
I worked on this so hard based on what they want.
They wanted “simple, elegant, and Japanese-ish”. So I started with brainstorming ideas, then mock up
design and everything. They said OK after I showed the mock up design. and I converted my design to XHTML and CSS, which should be a web standard compliant site.
I showed the completed site.
Then, what happened was….

They suddenly turned their head, saying “We don’t like this, we will go for a different design.”

“What????????????????!!!!!!!!!”

I decide to give away as free template.
I will post it next time.

I will show you one of my old art work I did in 2004. The title called, “Grid”.

I used a grid notebook, finish coating, and paper. Now I look at them again, thought they actually look great.

Designing Logo

I had to submit a proposal for logo design the other day.
I created 5 design types to let people chose their favorite one.
What makes me frustrated is that people tend to pick the ugliest one among I submitted.

We had a meeting and discussed what they wanted and I was back to work, brainstorming ideas onto the paper. I created 5 types. First three of them are my favorite design and I added two which are not my favorite, but I know what they probably like.

They picked the last two.

It happened all the time. Maybe I should save time to make only their favorite.
